About Me

Hi, I’m Frank Bui — a Brisbane-based Principal Civil Engineering Designer with over 25 years of experience in civil infrastructure projects across Queensland and beyond. I work with TMR, councils, contractors, and consultants to deliver civil design and drafting services that meet technical, safety, and delivery standards.

My highlight projects include Cross River Rail, Kakadu National Park Upgrades, Hamilton Northshore, Caboolture West, Morayfield South, Narangba East, Kingsford Smith Drive Upgrades (KSD), Ipswich Motorway Upgrades, Gold Coast Light Rail, and the Beaudesert Flagstone Estate 50-lot land development.

I specialise in road design, drainage, earthworks, subdivisions, 3D modelling, producing construction-ready documentation, and Bill of Quantities.

FBU CIVIL is an independent Queensland-based civil engineering design business, proudly owned and operated from home. We provide practical and reliable design and drafting solutions tailored to each project. Our services include 12d modelling, stormwater systems, earthworks, and subdivision layouts. We work with developers, local councils, consultants, and state authorities to deliver cost-effective results.

Lead road designer in the southern zone, coordinating with structural and utility teams for detailed civil layouts.

Kakadu National Park Upgrades

Road upgrades at Jim Jim Falls and Magella Creek, focusing on flood immunity and safe access.

Clarke Creek Wind Farm Access

Design of new access points, pullover bays, and road widening for heavy turbine transport.

Kingsford Smith Drive upgrades (KSD)

Taking Capital works including kerb and channel programs, pavement rehabilitation, concept and details design of roads, footpaths and stormwater drainages, consulting with QUU, Telstra, and other local governments.
